The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow (WCDH) is proud to announce Amanda Hodes as the recipient of the 2024 Moondancer Fellowship. Chosen from an extraordinary pool of 51 submissions, Amanda’s work captivated the judges with its bold and deeply personal exploration of ecological devastation and the violation of women. Her ability to intertwine these stories is as unique as it is memorable, demonstrating both creative courage and literary excellence.
The Moondancer Fellowship, generously funded by Elise Roenigk, supports writers whose work passionately addresses the natural world and environmental concerns. Open to poets, fiction writers, playwrights, screenwriters, essayists, memoirists, and columnists, the fellowship seeks applicants who demonstrate honesty, insight, and a strong potential for publication or production.
As the 2024 Moondancer Fellow, Amanda will receive a two-week residency at WCDH to focus exclusively on her writing. The residency includes a private suite with a bedroom, bathroom, and writing space, as well as wireless internet. Writers also enjoy gourmet dinners served five nights a week, the camaraderie of a vibrant literary community, and uninterrupted time for creativity in a tranquil setting.
