About the event
The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow (WCDH) is proud to present “Where Our Stories Breathe, a generative writing workshop utilizing guided mediation instructed by author, editor, and educator Diane Gottlieb. The course will be held from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, January 29, at the Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow, 515 Spring Street in Eureka Springs. The cost of the workshop is $35. All proceeds from this workshop will benefit the WCDH scholarship fund providing financial aid to emerging writers and marginalized voices for writing residencies. Scholarships are awarded on an as-needed basis depending on availability. To ensure the safety of all participants, WCDH COVID protocols are in effect, and registration is limited to allow for adequate distancing. Participants must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Diane Gottlieb, memoirist, fiction writer, and certified yoga instructor will lead workshop participants in a variety of guided meditations and timed writing exercises designed to help mine the stories that breathe the most deeply within us. No previous writing experience is needed to attend and receive value from this course. Participants should bring their preferred method of taking notes and a desire to learn.
Gottlieb is from Coconut Creek, FL. She is the Prose and Nonfiction Editor of Emerge Literary Journal, and her essays and short fiction have been published widely. She leads adult writing workshops in fiction and nonfiction and provides editing services to individuals. Gottlieb, winner of the 2021 WCDH Dancing in the Rain fellowship will be in residence at Dairy Hollow working on a young adult novel.
