Job Description
The Colony Coordinator reports directly to the Executive Director, serving as administrator and the primary contact/coordinator for all writers—tending to applications, admissions, orientation, communications and overall residency experience at the Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow (WCDH). Responsibilities include:

Maintains all related policies and monitors the quality of WCDH services;

Develops and maintains the Fellowship Program, securing new fellowships as directed by the Executive Director—providing timely and effective communications with both the fellowship recipient and the sponsor;

Coordinates and facilitates Alumni activity and volunteer groups;

Serves as primary liaison with housekeeping and maintenance staff, coordinating staff meetings as needed;

Manages day-to-day administrative operations (budget tracking and reporting, record keeping, database updates, phone callsverbal and written communication, and scheduling residencies and fellowships);

Assists the Executive Director in implementing the marketing plan, maintaining effective communication via social media, websites, blogs and all marketing materials—managing all mass mailings and material distribution;

Promotes the WCDH through public appearances and contacts with journalists, as coordinated with the Executive Director;

Identifies, establishes and manages community relations and ongoing partnerships in coordination with the Executive Director (e.g. PoetLuck);
-
Assists the Executive Director in writing, researching and monitoring WCDH grants and their fulfillment—providing oversight, reports and all accountabilities in a timely manner;

Manages the sale of all WCDH-related merchandise.
Experience: A minimum three years of experience in management or related position. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Ability to provide timely fulfillment of tasks and follow-up.
This is a part time position for 25 hours/week and pays $15/hour. This position has the potential to grow into a full-time position, dependent upon successful development and fundraising.
