The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow is pleased to announce a new series of events featuring writers and writings from our quarterly literary magazine, eMerge. Every issue of eMerge will be launched by a public reading from writers featured in the issue as well as current Writers in Residence at The Writers’ Colony. We kick off this series on December 13 at 7 pm with “eMerge at Brews” in Eureka Springs as part of our Giving Season fundraiser and will feature our special host, former Executive Director Michelle Hannon. We will welcome Northwest Arkansas area eMerge writers Zeek Taylor, Bill McCloud, Samantha Jones, Darlene Graf, Ruth Mitchell, Ruth Weinstein, and Dan Morris as well as Writers in Residence, Justin Noga and Brendan Bourque-Sheil.
Founded by The Writers’ Colony long-time supporter, Charles Templeton, eMerge is a quarterly online literary magazine featuring a variety of genre—from poems to essays to stories and even recipes—with a focus on providing emerging writers an opportunity to publish alongside established professionals. The “eMerge at” readings provide the additional opportunity to read alongside fellow writers and meet their readers face-to-face.
Our January and April readings will be hosted at Brews, but as we expand our services to the greater Northwest Arkansas region, expect to see “eMerge at” readings around the NWA Corridor. We will also be live streaming the events and make the reading available afterwards on our website and social media channels.
But wait… there’s more! Due to popular demand by our eMerge authors, we will also be featuring a virtual reading in between the in-person meetings! Watch our website and socials for these events throughout the year.
