The Podcast Production Intern will help The Writers’ Colony develop episodes that are engaging and target the current and target audience by writing, editing, and promoting episodes in conjunction with the Media Specialist. This is currently an unpaid position, but we’re working hard to make it as beneficial as it can be. This position is also remote, though we would like the intern to visit us at least once and meet in person if possible.

Intern tasks include: 

• Take training through Fayetteville Public Library

  • CFI Foundations 

  • Podcast Booth 101

  • Audio 101

  • Audio 102

• Research/Write episodes

• Edit episodes

• Publish episodes

• Create summary, graphics, and social media for episodes

  • Attend WCDH events and be introduced as part of staff

  • Work with authors to develop content

• Learn valuable skills and information

  • Basic knowledge of podcast production

  • Discern appropriate content for current and target audiences

• Develop a project that can be used as a portfolio item

  • Podcast scripts and finished episodes

  • Marketing items

  • Present findings (written speech, exhibit, etc.), possibly host a podcast or other interview

• Opportunities to develop relationships and mentorships with authors 

 

Requirements

Must be a student who has declared Writing, Marketing, or Communications as Major or Minor or have clear aspirations to pursue these fields professionally. Applications should be sent to director@writerscolony.org and must include:
