About the event

The Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow (WCDH) presents Write Livelihood: How to Make a Practical Living From Writing, led by Caryn Mirriam-Goldberg and Kathryn Lorenzen.

We invite all creative writers looking to make a living or supplement their livelihood through their writing to join us for this generative weekend retreat. Come learn more about crafting your Right Livelihood – the Buddhist term for work that serves the world and builds on your gifts – through writing for hire, facilitating or coaching writing, and other possibilities.

Through creative and innovative exercises, meditations, and discussions, you'll explore your callings, strengths, and what you love to do and write and how to earn income while doing meaningful work, including work creating content for businesses and organizations, facilitating workshops and classes, coaching writers, and more.

In addition to our sessions together, you'll have open time to write your way into your goals, and Kathryn or Caryn will meet with each of you for a laser coaching session (a 20-minute session to focus in on what's your best next steps).

We'll also celebrate ourselves as writers through a reading Saturday evening. By the end of the workshop, you'll have more knowledge about ways to increase your income, build connections and enhance networking, plus you'll leave with an action plan to launch your new work.

WCDH is holding suites for the workshop until May 1st and are first-come, first-serve. Workshop attendees will recieve the reduced residency rate of $75 a night plus $25 cleaning fee. The workshop is also open to commuters and locals.

This is a 3-day, in-person workshop to be held at The Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow from the evening of June 30 to the morning of July 3. Saturday lunch is included in the cost of the workshop.

The class fee is $240 per person and proceeds benefit future workshops. Register here or call 479-253-7444.

This workshop is appropriate for writers of all levels of experience from complete novice to published writer.
