Tricia Evans is a retired community college Dean of Business, having served in both Seattle and Southern California. She has experience in industry, marketing, and advertising agency work and most recently has worked on rental homes, wielding paint brushes and taking kitchen appliances apart to detail. She lived in the Philippines in her twenties and again as a retiree. Both experiences allowed for extensive travel in Asia and community involvement in her adopted hometown. There she was a travel and leisure columnist for a small newspaper, served on a few boards, and participated in local education. Like most folks who intentionally and happily move to the Eureka Springs area, she visited a friend, and the rest is recent history.
Hilka Irvin is a Minnesota native who made her home in Eureka Springs in 2014. Throughout her professional life, she has worked with several non-profit organizations in varying capacities. Hilka also has a background in event planning, graphic design, marketing, and grant writing. She has had a passion for reading, writing, and art since her early childhood and that passion has grown throughout the years. She currently operates a business independently as well as maintaining her art career as a 2-D artist. She enjoys writing poetry, travel, cooking, hiking, decorating, theatre, swimming, and living life in Eureka Springs.
Since opening its doors to writers in 2000, the Writers’ Colony at Dairy Hollow has made a lasting impact on the arts and literary communities through its mission to nurture writers of all genres, backgrounds, and levels of experience in a supportive environment that builds community, energizes creative expression, stimulates new thinking, and optimizes productivity.
