The muse is at home in the beautiful, historic Ozark Mountain town of Eureka Springs, Arkansas. In this setting, The Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow offers two-week to three-month residencies for over 50 experienced and emerging writers in all genres and songwriters each year.
The gift of uninterrupted work time in a supportive environment, along with Eureka's natural surroundings and a vibrant community of writers, musicians, artists and performers, has beckoned emerging and experienced writers since the Colony opened in June, 2000.

Authors' Reception to Feature Travel Writers
Travel Writer Jeff Greenwald, author of "Shopping for Buddas" and "The Size of the World", and Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow resident author and Travel Writer, Mark Lewandowski, will be on hand for a nosh and wine reception and Q & A evening on Friday, May 2, 6 to 8 pm at the Writers Colony, 515 Spring Street. There is no charge.
Wine reception is compliments of Post Familie Vineyards and Winery and will introduce wine from its St. Johns Winery line, as well as offer tastings of regional favorites, Vignoles and Red Muscadine.
Greenwald will perform his "Strange Travel Suggestions" night of comedy and storytelling on Thursday, May 1 at the Grand Central Hotel. May 15 Poetluck
May Poetluck will feature Elizabeth Mack from Omaha, Nebraska. Elizabeth earned an MA in English-Non Fiction Emphasis, from the University of Nebraska and is currently completing her book "Healing Springs", a collection of personal essays, memoir and travel narratives, much of which centers around childhood experiences in NW Arkansas.
Also reading at Poetluck will be current colony resident writers Theodora Ranelli of Olympia, WA., Paul Sampson of Terrell, TX and Dr. Joe Cangelosi of Conway, AR
Poetluck is a potluck dinner and literary salon held the third Thursday of every month, January-November at The Writers' Colony at Dairy Hollow in Eureka Springs. The public is invited and writers in all genres (fiction and non-fiction, songwriting), readers and listeners are encouraged to attend. Share dinner, hear our featured resident writers for 20 minutes, and then read up to four minutes of your own original work. Bring a potluck dish to share.
